Partying for Jac

Australian partyphile, Jac Vidgen, moved to Manila and eventually became part our nightlife’s scene. I’d see him in a lot of fun events but we were never introduced. He’d always gladly pose for my camera though.

Early this year, while having a meal at the Corner Tree Cafe, we bump into him and I am finally introduced. This led to an invite to dinner in his Makati flat where I learned about his parties in Sydney. We became Facebook friends and his photographs impressed me.

A little over a week ago, we found out that he had died of what must have been a heart attack. Last night’s party in XX XX served as his wake.

A New Building, Judging for the Awit Awards, and Shooting a Rehearsal

June 5, 2018, a busy, very musical day. Was invited to judge the Awit Awards’ Best Music Video and Album Cover Art nominees, so I headed for Club Filipino at noon. There were no parking slots available in the street so I had to park in the new building that housed the new Unimart. This building sure interested my phone’s camera.

At Club Filipino, I was led to my computer monitor where I viewed six music videos. This year’s batch was excellent. I enjoyed all six and even gave perfect scores to two of them. The Lomi I ordered after was yummy, too.

Joey Ayala’s band had a rehearsal in his house so he asked me to shoot a few photos they could use for a little press publicity. I could not refuse. His new stuff rocks!

1st of June

Scored a shut out in the morning and tradition dictates that the winners treat the members present to ice cream, so we did.

Sonny Santos treated to lunch again in his San Mateo home. The karekare was delicious. I had three servings.

Karen waited for Belle’s return to celebrate her May birthday in June. Hacienda rocked last night. Those tacos, the shrimp chorizo rice, and the Tres Leches cake I can have again and again.
